Parents & younger skaters
Managing a child’s skating journey safely.
Why does an under-18 skater need a parent account?
For safeguarding and account management, skaters under 18 are linked to a parent or guardian account rather than managing a fully independent login.
Can one parent account have more than one child?
Yes. A parent account can be linked to more than one skater profile where applicable, allowing each child’s information to be managed separately.
Can more than one parent be linked to a child?
The platform supports parent and guardian relationships. Additional access depends on how the child account has been set up and invited.
What can parents see?
Parents can see the linked child’s bookings, homework, practice, progress, goals, coach feedback, training content and competition information, subject to account permissions.
Can my child use the app too?
Yes. The app is designed to support the skater experience while the parent account remains responsible for the child’s account and key information.
How do I keep emergency information updated?
Use the emergency contacts area to review and update contact details, medical conditions, allergies, medication and relevant notes.
How will we receive homework from a coach?
Homework assigned by a linked coach appears in the training or homework area of the app, including any instructions and due information.
Can I see upcoming lessons and bookings?
Yes. Upcoming bookings and calendar information are available for the linked skater so the family can stay organised.
What happens when my child turns 18?
Their account arrangements can be reviewed so they can move to an independent adult skater account where appropriate.
How is my child’s information protected?
Ice Journey uses role-based access so users only see information relevant to their account and relationship with the skater.
